Revitalized Summer NAMM in Nashville Builds Optimism
At the largest summer show in six years, NAMM members lay groundwork for success at Nashville’s Music City Center, from July 17-19. Following a strong 2013 event, this year’s Summer NAMM featured 438 exhibitors in two full halls. 112 companies returned to the show after a hiatus and 103 were new-to-Summer NAMM, including more pro audio companies. This was the strongest Summer NAMM since 2006.

Yamaha Releases Software Updates For CL, QL Mixers and StageMix
Yamaha has released software updates for its CL and QL series digital mixing consoles, as well as updated versions of its StageMix iPad apps for QL, CL, M7CL and LS9 consoles. All firmware and app updates are available as free downloads from the company’s website as well as from Apple’s iTunes store.

Kramer Electronics Becomes Audinate’s 150th Dante Adopter
Kramer Electronics and Audinate have announced that Kramer has become the 150th Dante manufacturer to license Audinate’s Dante networking solution. Kramer explains the decision was taken after evaluating all other audio over IP networking technologies and finding that Dante was “the most requested audio networking technology in the market.”
Major Yamaha Nuage and Steinberg Nuendo Updates Released July 22
Steinberg and Yamaha just confirmed that the significantly updated Version 1.5 software for Yamaha’s Nuage post-production system, originally announced in April, will be released on 22nd July, alongside Version 6.5 of Steinberg’s Nuendo DAW.
