Aerial Acoustics Model 5T Makes First Public Appearance at T.H.E. Show Newport
Aerial Acoustics, T+A, Audioquest, Sunny Components and HRS will team up during T.H.E. Show Newport 2016, June 3-5, in room 1217, to create the first ever public audition of the next generation bookshelf from renowned designer Michael Kelly. The new Aerial Acoustics 5T shares the same curved cabinet construction, high gloss finish and the same 1” tweeter of the floorstanding Model 6T and Model 7T designs. Custom-made for the 5T is a new 6.7” long-stroke papyrus-blend driver.

Hafler Launches New Line of Phono Stages and SUTs for Turntables
Following the resurgence of 33 RPM records and turntables, Hafler has launched a series of devices aimed squarely at this market that include two active phono stages and two step-up transformers (SUTs). The series includes the Hafler PH50 high-performance phono stage for moving magnet (dynamic) cartridges, and the Hafler PH60 phono stage for moving coil cartridges with a class-A transformerless head-amp design. The Hafler PH34 and PH44 SUTs employ ultra high performance Jensen Transformers.
QSC Introduces Pendant Loudspeakers, New Amplifiers and Q-SYS USB-to-AV Bridging at InfoComm 2016
Two new models in the QSC installed loudspeaker portfolio will debut at InfoComm 2016 show, June 8-10. The new AcousticDesign Series Pendant Loudspeakers will be demonstrated at the show together with QSC’s new Q-SYS USB-to-AV Bridging solution, now featuring PTZ-IP Cameras and peripherals for corporate AV applications. The Costa Mesa company will also introduce two new SPA Series amplifiers suited for meeting room applications.

The New SB Acoustics Satori Drivers for 2016
As audioXpress anticipated, SB Acoustics (a brand of Sinar Baja Electric) introduced several new products for 2016, including the brand’s flagship TW29BN high-end beryllium dome tweeter, part of the Satori top performing driver range. The new range, all designed in Denmark and manufactured in Indonesia, also includes new midrange and midwoofer drivers using new proprietary cones made with Egyptian Papyrus fibers, available in 5” to 9.5” sizes.
MAGIX Acquires Sony Creative Software Products and Gets Hold of Sound Forge and ACID
German software house MAGIX Software GmbH announced it is acquiring a majority of the Sony Creative Software (SCS) products, including the popular audio editing and music production applications Sound Forge Pro and ACID Pro. Sony Creative Software was created from the acquisition of Sonic Foundry, in 2003, and has remained a separate division within Sony Professional.
You Can DIY! Reamplification Revisited
In 2014, audioXpress invited Scott Dorsey to update his popular reamping project that modeled the source impedances of a couple typical guitar pickups.
