Microchip Technology announced two next-generation Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) solutions with an easy-to-use ASCII-style command interface that makes the devices easy to configure and eliminates any complicated code compiling. The RN4870 and RN4871 support the latest Bluetooth 4.2 specification and have a Bluetooth stack on board with a scripting engine to enable standalone operation and eliminate microcontroller (MCU) use for simple applications.

New Analog Devices SHARC Processor Platform Delivers Superior Sound Experience in Audio System Applications
Analog Devices announced the addition of ADSP-SC57x and ADSP-2157x processors to its growing series of single-chip multicore SHARC processors. By combining ADI’s SHARC technology with ARM Cortex-A5 system control capability, the series provides a high performance, low cost solution for complex applications such as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X or active noise cancellation with performance headroom remaining for further audio post-processing. Target applications include automotive premium audio, consumer and pro-audio, and industrial systems that require high floating-point performance.
