Savitech Launches LHDC ONE Hi-Res Bluetooth Audio Transmitter
Savitech, the company behind LHDC (Low Latency High Def Codec), introduced a dedicated USB transmitter dongle to expand its user base. The new LHDC ONE Hi-Res Bluetooth Audio Transmitter converts audio from any USB-C audio source, and streams it using the low latency and high resolution audio codec promoted by Savitech and the HWA Alliance. Comparing to the Bluetooth SBC audio format, LHDC allows more than 3 times the data transmitted, transmitting 24-bit/96kHz audio at 900 kbps.
MediaTek’s Chairman Ming-Kai Tsai Awarded IEEE Robert N. Noyce Medal
MediaTek announced that its chairman Ming-Kai Tsai has been awarded the IEEE Robert N. Noyce Medal, one of the most prestigious awards in the electronics industry. Chairman Tsai was recognized for his vision and leadership in the global semiconductor industry, democratizing technology access for billions of people. The award will be presented to Tsai in-person at the IEEE Honors Ceremony, which will be held May 3, 2024 in Boston.

The Acoustic Transducer Company (ATC) announced the production of the C4 Sub Mk 2 active subwoofer system, expanding its hifi range of home audio products. Neotera Audio Introduces Ultra Flat Series Woofers
Neotera Audio, which has manufacturing in Italy and engineering in Sweden, has recently released two rather interesting thin-profile 10" woofers, the UF295CBS, and the UF295FAS. Both woofers have a voice coil and motor structure located around the rim of the cone assembly, and both use and front and rear facing NBR surrounds for compliance. The UF295CBS was designed for small closed box subwoofer applications, while the UF295FAS is a a pure dipole woofer with a Fiberglass/Rohacell dome suspended directly on the voice coil.
STMicroelectronics Accelerates Development of Qi Wireless Chargers
STMicroelectronics is simplifying development of Qi-compliant wireless chargers up to 15W by introducing transmitter and receiver evaluation boards based on the company’s STWLC38 and STWBC86 ICs. Responding to the fast growing demand for products supporting the Qi wireless standards, these new development solutions will allow developers to quickly build and test wireless-charger prototypes. Both are used with the STSW-WPSTUDIO graphical software environment to assist development.
