Shure Achieves Sustainable Packaging Goals in 2023, on Track for 90% Recyclable and/or Renewable Packaging for New Products by 2025
In 2022, Shure announced aggressive goals to increase recyclable and/or renewable packaging for new products. Shure has achieved its goal to convert to 75 percent by 2023 and is on track to grow to 90 percent by 2025 and 100 percent by 2030 for new packaging. The goal for existing product packaging in 2025 is 75 percent recyclable and/or renewable.

Room Gain is a term not used in acoustics textbooks as such. Room acoustics is naturally often discussed in the hifi community, since the room you put your loudspeakers in will heavily influence the sound that reaches your ears, both at low and high frequencies. In these discussions the term "room gain" sometimes comes up. This article was inspired by Erik Wiederholtz (CTO of Perlisten Audio) and his interest in the topic, and he was kind enough to provide measurements and photos from his own listening room for a sealed subwoofer as well as for a vented subwoofer.

Microchip Technology Acquires Neuronix AI Labs
Microchip Technology has acquired Neuronix AI Labs to expand its capabilities for power-efficient, AI-enabled edge solutions deployed on field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). Microchip’s mid-range PolarFire FPGAs and SoCs already lead the industry in terms of low power consumption, reliability and security capabilities. The acquisition of this technology will enable Microchip to develop cost-effective, large-scale edge deployments for use in applications on systems that have cost, size and power constraints and enable a multifold increase in AI/ML processing horsepower on low and mid-range FPGAs.
