Elytone Launches Networked Audio Processor 2 (NAP2) at CEDIA Expo 2025

August 19 2025, 14:35
Visitors to CEDIA Expo 2025 will have the opportunity to be among the first to see the brand-new Networked Audio Processor 2 (NAP2), the latest compact, cost-optimized solution for next-gen integration from Elytone. Building on the success of its NAP1 platform, the Taiwan-based company is now pushing forward with a solution designed for audio-over-IP networks applications such as speakers, mic arrays, and distributed audio systems. At half the size of NAP1 and less cost, it supports native AES67, control, and PoE on one single standard CAT5e/6 cable.

The new Elytone NAP2 delivers high-quality networked audio performance in a smaller, more cost-efficient package, making possible a wider range of AoIP products for companies in pro audio, custom installation, and enterprise AV. Built on Analog Devices ADAU1787 and SigmaDSP, and a dual-core Cortex-M0+, the new NAP2 offers exciting possibilities by combining analog I/O, digital interfaces, AES67 support, and ready-to-run firmware — all in a module about half the size of a business card.

With over 45 years of engineering and manufacturing expertise, Elytone is a global provider of high-performance audio and magnetic components and systems that power applications in professional audio, consumer electronics, and industrial technology. The core of enabling IP audio networks, Elytone's networked processors combine advanced computational processing, DSP, memory, and software in a single platform that can act as the engine of powerful audio products.

Earlier in 2025, Elytone expanded its NAP1 platform to enable IP audio networks over Dante and AES67, with AES70 (OCA) controls, and enhanced A2B Audio Bus bridging, plus expanded support for audio streaming capabilities. The new NAP2 builds on Elytone’s expertise in networked audio solutions, offering again a complete audio module in a compact form factor, with comprehensive processing, on-board memory, integrated AES67, and supporting a wide range of both digital and analog inputs and outputs.

The flexible I/O capabilities are expanded beyond NAP1 in this area with more connectivity options for easier implementation of endpoint applications, and designed to be low-cost. NAP2 has an Elytone-developed implementation of AES67, providing an efficient, fully integrated networked audio solution. The AES67 code is very efficient, allowing for multiple channels of high-quality audio and sub-3ms auto-sync DSP. From active speakers to distributed microphone arrays, the NAP2 module simplifies deployment while maintaining speed, flexibility, and interoperability.

Designed as a lower-cost processing option to support new audio product types with smaller channel counts, the NAP2 connects IP audio and control through one Ethernet cable. The processing, memory, and audio interfaces have been carefully chosen to deliver performance, focusing on scalability in systems with multiple end points. The module offers I2S, TDM, and PDM digital audio interfaces plus 4 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs, enabling seamless communication with a wide range of audio connections. For integration, developers are able to explore I2C, SPI, PWM, and UART interfaces, with a +5V power supply input.

"NAP2 is designed to complement NAP1 in both performance and cost, with a focus on endpoint applications that are typically less demanding and have a lower channel count. By narrowing the application scope, we were able to optimize audio interfaces, processors, and memory to achieve a smaller, more cost-effective module. This opens up many new end-product possibilities for our customers," says Albert Yong, Vice President of Audio/OEM at Elytone.

Premiere at CEDIA Expo 2025
Elytone will unveil the Networked Audio Processor 2 (NAP2) at CEDIA Expo 2025, Booth 739 (September 4–6) in Denver, Colorado. Visitors to the Elytone booth will see live demonstrations of NAP2 enabling four PoE installed speakers over an AES67 network. Elytone will also showcase a completely new generation of exciting amplifier modules in its Peak Amplification division.

In a separate digital audio demonstration, visitors will be able to see a complete wireless streaming solution based on the AMP-140C4 evaluation platform, now supporting native AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect with zero control apps required.

Additionally to supplying modular audio solutions, Elytone acts as an embedded partner for audio brands — providing design support, prototyping, embedded engineering, and vertically integrated production across Taiwan, China, and Myanmar. From DSP and networked audio to full wireless solutions, Elytone helps development teams align on requirements, accelerate timelines, and deliver scalable, production-ready modules.
