Lavoce Italiana continues to unveil the new drivers that it will be launching at Prolight+Sound 2018 (Frankfurt, April 10-13). The transducer company will be showing the new MAN062.00 high-power 6.5” neodymium midrange; a new 12" model, the WAF123.02 with a ferrite magnet purposely designed for mid-band applications; and the new and powerful 21” subwoofer, the SAF214.50, able to offer super high excursion using a 4.5” CCAW sandwiched voice coil and a ferrite motor.
OPPO Digital Announces Decision to Gradually Stop Manufacturing New Products
It could well have been an April's Fool story, but unfortunately it was released on April 2nd... In a message of farewell, OPPO Digital confirms it will gradually stop manufacturing new products, causing a shockwave across home theater and audio enthusiasts all over the world. A decision which is hard to understand given the brand's recent success stories in Blu-ray players, planar magnetic headphones and even wireless speakers. OPPO Digital also confirms they are open to proposals regarding the IP related to their product design.
Zoom Launches F1 Field Recorder and Mic Systems for Video Recording Devices
Zoom is now shipping its F1 Field Recorder with a choice of shotgun or lavalier microphones, expanding its product line of quality audio recording solutions for video recording devices and DSLR cameras. The all-new two-channel F1 Field Recorder takes portable audio recording to a new level, with a bright display for outdoors, pre-recording buffer, on-board limiter and auto-level control, and USB connectivity, allowing transfers to a computer, or recording directly to a computer or iPad using the USB audio interface mode.

At NAB 2018, (Las Vegas, April 9-12) Clear-Com will present Agent-IC 2.2, the latest version of its established free app that expands intercom access via mobile devices such as the Apple Watch. Intercom calls can be initiated or taken via Apple Watch and paired with a Bluetooth headset or iPhone. The Agent-IC update now offers support for all three versions of the Apple Watch. Earthquake Sound Corporation introduced the Hum Kleaner, an active converter that provides two channels of unbalanced-to-balanced and balanced-to-unbalanced level conversion in a resilient, compact, and portable unit. Balanced lines offer increased immunity to external electrical noise such as hum. Since a balanced system minimizes induced noise, it is the preferred method of audio connections, especially when long lengths of cables are used.
