Knowles Announces First Amazon-Qualified Development Kit for Wake-on-Voice Alexa Headsets
Knowles announced that it has developed a new hands-free reference solution to enable OEMs and ODMs to build headphones, headsets and wireless earbuds that allow users to talk directly to Alexa. The new AISonic SmartMic Headset Development Kit for Amazon AVS supports Alexa with the lowest power voice activation, eliminating the need for Push-to-Talk activation. This Development Kit includes the Knowles AISonic IA611 SmartMic, which integrates a low power audio edge processor inside a tiny microphone.
Yamaha Adopts Audinate’s Dante AV Technology
Yamaha Corporation has adopted Audinate's Dante AV Product Design suite for integrated AV over IP audio/video technology, and has begun the development of a new suite of products targeted at the Pro AV market. Based on Audinate’s recently-announced Dante AV technology, initial Yamaha AV products will centre around applications requiring the need to breakout and distribute audio and video signals, while maintaining tight synchronisation throughout the facility or venue.
Tectonic Audio Labs Introduces New DML500 Flat Panel Speaker and LS-118 Subwoofer
During InfoComm 2019, Tectonic Audio Labs will introduce the DML500 flat panel speaker and the company’s first front firing passive subwoofer, the LS-118, which together promises to “completely alter the way we hear sound.” The DML500 is Tectonic’s next generation distributed mode loudspeaker featuring bending wave technology and the evolution of Tectonic's PL Series of loudspeakers, in a lighter, thinner and easier to mount solution, that improves directivity and intelligibility.
Sonarworks Announces Reference 4.3 Update with New Features
The Latvia-based audio technology company Sonarworks has released the latest update to their monitoring calibration software, Reference 4.3, including a revamp of Systemwide as well as on-demand headphone profile downloads and new mixed-filter mode. Dedicated to improving the experience for both current and new users, the update includes a reworked filter mode as well as usability, latency and on-boarding improvements to allow greater ease of use with the software.
