Registration Opens for Online AES Virtual Vienna Convention, June 2–5 2020
The Audio Engineering Society has officially cancelled the in-person components of the AES Vienna 2020 Convention scheduled for May 2020. While unfortunately there will be no exhibition as such, the AES decided to take the conference events online, offering new interactive possibilities to “Listen, Learn, Connect” under extraordinary circumstances. AES Virtual Vienna will offer a program of sessions that will be broadcast throughout the 4 days, after which they will be available on-demand, available to all registrants.

Libre Wireless Technologies, the embedded wireless audio and voice/AI development platform company, announced that its MAVID low power mic-to-cloud edge computing solution expanded its unique RTOS platform to include new SDK releases. The company's flexible SDK for connected devices now features Amazon AWS IoT Core certification and leverages the responsive Free RTOS OS, combined in a scalable feature rich platform. The new development environment offers unique connectivity and libraries for manufacturers and ODMs developing on Libre Wireless's MAVID platform.
Consumer Electronics Retailers Ahead of the Online Curve Before COVID-19
The global spread of COVID-19 presents new challenges to consumer electronics (CE) vendors and retailers alike. The Q UHD sets a very high standard for wireless audio video receivers (AVRs) with its advanced connectivity, wireless connection to all WiSA Certified speakers and premium tuning and control features that tailor the listening experience through a beautifully designed user interface. The Q expands on Axiim’s WiSA Certified wireless audio transmitter collection by joining the Axiim LINK transmitter which is designed for use with WiSA Ready TVs, PCs and gaming systems.
Audio & Loudspeaker Technologies International Changes Ownership and Structure
A member referendum on April 14, 2020 produced a unanimous vote to turn ownership and management of Audio & Loudspeaker Technologies International (ALTI), formerly known as the Association of Loudspeaker Manufacturing & Acoustics (ALMA) International to longtime Executive Director Barry Vogel, effective July 1, 2020. According to the announcement sent by the association, this is being done to streamline operations and decision making as well as opening the door to more opportunities to help the Membership with new programs and services.

Audio Engineering Society Seeks Financial Support from Membership and Industry
The Audio Engineering Society has not proven immune to the havoc the COVID-19 pandemic is wreaking across the globe. The traditional cashflow of the Society, fueled by its events, has been severely disrupted. In response, the AES has launched a fundraising campaign to ensure the Society’s continued operation through the crisis. The goal of the initiative is to raise $500,000 USD by June 1.
Listen Presents Working from Home with SoundCheck Video Series
