Yamaha Introduces New ADECIA RM-TT Tabletop Microphone with Dante Audio/Control and PoE
Yamaha expanded its ADECIA conferencing solution family with the new wired RM-TT Tabletop Microphone. The ADECIA Tabletop Solution, like the existing ADECIA Ceiling System, is based on Dante audio networking and complements the dedicated RM-CR conference processor, VXL1-16P line array speakers and optimized SWR2311P-10G PoE+ switch, enabling remote conferencing experiences. With built-in DSP technology, the RM-TT microphone maximizes voice capture, and relays speech in high quality, with maximum flexibility.
Amphenol Completes Acquisition of MTS Systems Corporation and Resells Test and Simulation Business to ITW
Amphenol Corporation, the global provider of high-technology interconnect, antenna and sensor solutions, continues its expansion and now announced that it has completed the planned acquisition of MTS Systems Corporation. MTS is the company that had acquired PCB Group in 2016, becoming the owner of PCB Piezotronics and Larson Davis. Amphenol will now sell the test and simulation business of MTS to ITW (Illinois Tool Works), as agreed in December 2020.

Lithe Audio Launches First WiSA Certified Dolby Atmos Ceiling Speakers
The Wireless Speaker and Audio Association (WiSA), founded by Summit Wireless Technologies, confirmed the launch of the new Lithe Audio’s WiSA Certified Pro Series in-ceiling speaker. The new Pro Series speaker from the British brand was unveiled earlier in November 2020, and is aimed firmly at the custom installation market. It also represents WiSA’s first certified speaker in the installation space, available April 2021 and priced at approximately $950 USD.
Belkin SoundForm Freedom True Wireless Earbuds Work with Apple's Find My Network
Belkin announced the SoundForm Freedom true wireless earbuds, one of the first ever accessories to work with Apple's new Find My network, feature - until now exclusively available on Apple devices. On the same week Apple debuted the feature that allows third-party devices to be tracked through the app on iPhones, iPads, and Macs, some of the first companies to take advantage of the feature include Belkin, VanMoof (electrical bikes), and Chipolo (tracking tags). The new SoundForm Freedom TWS earbuds will be launched in June 2021 for $99 US.

Patent Review: A Circular Shaped Planar Speaker System
The patent in review was granted in February 2015 to inventor Zhijun Zhao (West Bloomfield, MI) on behalf of Harman International Industries. As James Croft notes, planar magnetic transducers are often preferred for their thin form factor, ideal for shallow mounting spaces where a standard transducer may not fit, such as in-wall systems and automotive applications.
