Cambridge Audio Launches MXW70 Hypex NCORE-Driven Power Amp
Cambridge Audio announced the launch of a compact Class-D stereo power amplifier that extends its half-width MX Series and is an ideal companion to the MXN10 music streamer with digital pre-amp mode. The new NCORE-driven MXW70 delivers an impressive 70 Watts (at 8 Ohms) per channel, and features RCA and XLR inputs for versatile connectivity. Users can also turn the amplifier from stereo to mono mode with a simple switch, unlocking 250 Watts of bridgeable power.
Century-Old German Brand Beyerdynamic Acquired
The owners of beyerdynamic have agreed to sell the company. The announcement dates from June 6, 2025, and was revealed publicly on June 9, when a document detailing the terms of an acquisition by Jiahe Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., acting on behalf of Cosonic International Pte., confirmed the intent to acquire beyerdynamic GmbH & Co., all its assets, and subsidiaries in the US, China, and India. Cosonic is a large ODM/OEM based in Dongguan, China, recognized for its work for many international and Chinese audio brands.
