Wi-Fi Alliance Introduces Wi-Fi Certified 7
To complicate an extremely busy week in technology news, the Wi-Fi Alliance decided to announce the release of its certification for Wi-Fi 7, which is the closest thing the organization offers as its official release. Although already implemented in a large number of products by many manufacturers, Wi-Fi 7 - or IEEE 802.11be - didn't exactly exist until this announcement. And this is a big one for wireless audio, bringing greater capacity, and less latency.
Jabra Updates Elite 8 Active and Elite 10 TWS Earbuds at CES 2024
Short after being unveiled at IFA 2023 and launched in the market, at CES 2024 Jabra unveiled a suite of experience-enhancing updates to its latest Elite wireless earbuds, the Elite 8 Active and Elite 10. The updates introduce new noise suppression algorithms for more powerful ANC, clearer calls and better awareness of the user's surroundings with HearThrough to provide a more natural audio experience. Bluetooth LE Audio maybe in a future update.
Ceva and THX Partner to Bring Premium Spatial Audio to Hearables, Consumer and Mobile Products
Ceva and THX announced RealSpace Tuned by THX, a premium software offering for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to add support for immersive spatial audio customized to any consumer or prosumer audio device including true wireless earbuds, wireless headphones, smartphones, speakers and soundbars. Ceva RealSpace Tuned by THX delivers was demonstrated at CES 2024.
