Show Report: AXPONA 2025: The Best Show Yet

AXPONA 2025 was a great show, with 10,910 attendees, more than 700 manufacturers, retailers, distributors, brands from all over the world, thousands of products, and more exhibition booths than ever. Oliver Masciarotte and photographer Kurt Close flew through the more than 200 listening rooms on 12 floors to prepare this show report with what’s new and notable.

The Rega Planar 2 Turntable is shipping now! The result of over two years of R&D, Rega engineers along with a skilled staff hand assembling, released the Planar 2 on the heels of the recently announced Planar 3, and anticipating the arrival of the even more affordable Planar 1. The renewed Planar 2 features a new tonearm, platter, 24V low noise motor, acrylic laminated plinth along with a newly designed central bearing, all designed to extract the maximum amount of information and detail from any vinyl collection.

The UK based Rega team of designers, directed by Rega’s original founder Roy Gandy, devoted two years of intensive development to perfect the Planar 3 turntable. This was the most intensive redesign of the iconic ‘three’ model ever, looking for new ways to extract greater performance. To compliment the Planar 3 is the new RB330 tonearm. Engineered alongside the Planar 3, the RB330 is the culmination of 35 years of tonearm design experience.
