The convention's Archiving and Restoration Track will feature its most varied events schedule ever, including in-depth looks at archiving the music of Star Wars and the remarkably prolific recordings of the Grateful Dead, media preservation techniques for the 21st century and much more.
Sennheiser Launches “AMBEO for VR” Interoperability Partnership Program
At IBC 2017, Sennheiser has officially announced its “AMBEO for VR” Partnership Program, which has been created to ensure seamless interoperable production workflows for VR and AR productions. The program encompasses collaborations with manufacturers of field recorders, VR live cameras and live streaming software, mixing plug-ins and VR platforms. The first participants in the program were revealed at the Amsterdam show.
Genelec Updates GLM 3 Software with Cloud Services and Reference Levels
Genelec announced GLM 3, the latest iteration of its Genelec Loudspeaker Management (GLM) software, now featuring access to continuously updated technology and more complex calculations without the limitations of a locally stored software and the computer CPU. Genelec’s GLM 3 incorporates beta Cloud services and Reference Level listening features.
InfoComm International is Now the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association
InfoComm International has changed its name to the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA). The change was made to reflect a broadening mission to be an industry hub, while also acting as a catalyst for market growth beyond what has been considered traditionally as professional AV. Its North America show, June 2-8 in Las Vegas, will continue to operate under the InfoComm name.

Solid State Logic announced the System T - S300, a new compact broadcast console with a fixed layout control surface that can be combined with the complete portfolio of SSL’s networked solutions. At the same time, SSL has recently delivered its largest single System T configuration to-date, with 5400x4500 channels, to a large international broadcast facility. At IBC 2017, SSL participates in the SMPTE 2110 compatibility demonstration, and the Integrated IP Showcase Theatre with System T solutions.
