Flexound Augmented Audio Appoints Isak Olevic as Chief Executive Officer

Flexound Augmented Audio, the innovative haptics audio company from Finland, appointed Isak Olevic as the new CEO. Olevic, an experienced automotive and audio business executive, comes from Sweden and has a vast executive experience at Volvo, Harman International, and Ericsson. He will assume responsibilities for Flexound on January 1, 2022, succeeding Flexound co-founder Mervi Heinaro, who was recently appointed as the Deputy Mayor of the City of Espoo, Finland. Mervi remains a partner in the company as well as a member of the Advisory Board.

IDTechEx released a new report covering the market, technology and players in hearables. The market research company uses the term "hearables" loosely to describe all true wireless devices in the consumer electronics space, but also medical devices such as hearing aids and even cochlear implants. In this overview, it finds that the market was worth $24.5bn in 2019 and will continue to grow at a forecasted 14% YoY from 2020-2025, driven primarily by the true wireless consumer category.

Ling Technology, the Chinese company behind the AI Owl Luka, which can read any picture books to children, and the Jibo social robot, is now announcing Auri, a brand new smart home light and smart speaker which aims to promote wellness with its intelligent lighting and ambient sounds to help lift moods and bring calmness into homes. But Auri is also a platform that Ling intends to expand with various accessories, like the Auri oil diffuser and the Auri motion sensor. The project is now being promoted with a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
