OSTF Labs vMic Contact Microphone Improves Voice Capture

Leveraging the expertise of its co-founders, OSTF Labs is a highly regarded research organization in the field of intelligent electronic systems with successful product applications. Their latest announcement, vMic, is a noise-free surface vibration microphone that senses speaking vibrations through contact with the skin near the throat. The solution was promoted at the Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) at Eureka Park during CES 2021 as part of the 100 featured Taiwanese startups.

Jaguar Land Rover has revealed that it will start including Active Road Noise Cancellation technology from Silentium to remove unwanted road and tyre sounds from the cabin and provide a quieter and more refined experience for drivers and passengers. The technology, introduced on the new Jaguar F-PACE, new Jaguar XF and Range Rover Velar models, is capable of lowering unwanted noise peaks by 10dB and overall noise levels by 3-4dB – the equivalent of turning down the in-car sound system by four ‘steps’.

The company now added the zaZen I and II isolation platforms, a more affordable solution designed to isolate turntables, tube amps, and other sensitive audio equipment from any interference caused by vibrations and resonances. The name zaZen is from Zen Buddhism and refers to sitting in peaceful meditation.
