ARKAMYS SoundStage Audio Software Now Available On AKM AK7738 DSP

ARKAMYS, a French company specializing in digital sound processing for automotive solutions announced a partnership with Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) to enhance in-vehicle immersive audio experience for drivers and passengers. ARKAMYS successfully ported its audio enhancement software solution SoundStage Core on AKM’s AK7738 digital signal processor (DSP), leveraging the platform capabilities to enhance the surround sound effect achieved inside the car.

French speaker manufacturer Amadeus installed a 3D Sound system within Paris’ Chaillot National Theater, one of the most historical and prestigious performing arts venue in the French capital. Along with Solid State Logic (SSL), Lab.gruppen and Sonic Emotion, the four companies joined forces to design a one-of-a-kind electro-acoustic sound reinforcement system for the theater, beyond the limits of traditional technologies.

Waves Consumer, the consumer division of Waves Audio, announced that it has started selling and shipping its first direct to consumer product. Waves Nx, is a completely new, user-centric listening experience that enables 3D audio on any headphone set with any content. The company also unveiled a website, www.waves.com/nx, where the general public is invited to learn more about 3D audio and purchase Waves Nx for $79.

Flux has completed the migration to IRCAM SPAT v3 adding support for AVID AAX and 64 bit systems. Spat v3 introduces state of the art algorithms for room acoustics simulation utilizing advanced perceptive models, allowing for intuitive user interaction capabilities in stereo and surround configurations.
