Trulli Audio Introduces Bass50, World’s First Battery-Powered Thin Subwoofer

Trulli Audio is now shipping its wireless, battery-powered Trulli Bass50 subwoofer, delivering high-output bass in a plug-and-play audio solution. A truly revolutionary concept based on the company's ThinDriver technology, the project is a multi-year development effort that saw Trulli also creating dedicated manufacturing facilities in its Mundelein, IL headquarters. The Bass50 subwoofer meets a variety of applications, from mobile DJs, as a subwoofer to other Skaa-enabled wireless speakers, and even for car and marine audio.

Available for pre-order and expected to ship in March 2024, Death From Below (DFB) is the world's first SKAA-enabled, battery-powered mobile subwoofer that all owners of Soundboks 3, 4 and Go battery-powered speakers will want. The new Soundboks 4 was engineered to outperform the growing plastic-speakers with ugly LEDs of the competition, and now offers improved sound quality at any volume and is paired with industry-leading battery technology, all wrapped in a customizable, durable build with an easy-to-use Scandinavian design.

Soundboks, the Danish company that is also one of the most unexpected startups to ever succeed in the audio lifestyle space, continues to grow and just announced its second design in seven years. Being the famous inventors of the gigantic Soundboks Bluetooth speaker that required a reinforced dedicated backpack to be called portable, Soundboks now announced the launch of the Soundboks Go Speaker. This lighter, battery—powered version is still a big speaker for the segment, and uses an efficient Infineon Merus two-channel Class D amplifier.

When Soundboks introduced its "Bluetooth-speaker-for-parties" that looked like a Peavey guitar speaker, we couldn't stop laughing. Particularly at the suggestion that this would be a "portable" solution, loaded with battery-packs the size of a car battery (and as heavy) - the promotional images showed a guy carrying the "thing" on a backpack while riding a bicycle, and another one hiking through a mountain! Five years later, the Danish company has the last laugh with 50,000 units sold and introducing it's third-generation Soundboks speaker.

Here's an interesting story both from the loudspeaker design and marketing perspective. Copenhagen, Denmark-based SOUNDBOKS recently released a follow-up version of their "popular party speaker", known among music festival participants and other party goers as “The loudest battery-powered speaker.” Among other improvements, the updated version features two Merus Audio MA12070P amplifier ICs, allowing higher power and longer battery life.
