Audinate Acquires Video IP Codecs and Business Unit from Silex Insight

Silex Insight, a supplier of video IP codec and custom OEM solutions for AV applications, announced that it has signed an agreement to divest its video business to Audinate Group Limited, based in Australia. The Silex Insight video business produces video networking products for manufacturers of AV equipment, and its team was a leading force in the promotion of the Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) open standards efforts promoted by the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS).

As the effort towards the introduction of the Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) set of open standards and specifications continues, new companies are joining. The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) today announced that Silex Insight, an independent supplier of video IP codec and custom OEM solutions for AV, has become an AIMS member - just as AIMS' Internet Protocol Media Experience (IPMX) set of open standards and specifications gains traction in the AV industry.
