sensiBel, the Norwegian company developing optical MEMS microphones, continues to expand its team of electronics, optics and acoustics technology experts, as well as growing its business and leadership team. Following the announcement earlier in 2022 that the company is ramping up its production, sensiBel confirmed that Kieran Harney has now joined the sensiBel team to lead the company's business development in the Americas.

sensiBel is a Norwegian company developing a new generation of MEMS microphones using patented optical technology that they believe will be able to reach 80dB SNR and rival conventional studio microphone capsules, with all the benefits of a fully encapsulated solution. The company now announced a successful funding round of 15 million Euros, led by Germany’s TRUMPF Venture and including The European Council’s EIC Fund, Skagerak Capital, Investinor, and SINTEF Venture IV. sensiBel will use the funding to ramp up production.

As an audio consumer product category, soundbars remain a top seller, having replaced receivers and their associated passive speaker systems, which have sadly been reduced to legacy product categories.
