Denon and Marantz to Offer Auro-3D Upgrades on Premium AV Receivers

Denon and Marantz announced a unique upgrade offer to bring three-dimensional audio format Auro-3D to their recently introduced Premium AV Receivers. Expected to be available in December, a firmware upgrade will further enhance the feature set of the highly-acclaimed Denon AVR-X5200W and the AVR-X4100W models and Marantz SR7009 and AV7702 receiver and pre-amp / processor.

During the 137th AES Convention, JBL Professional has announced the first two models in its new 7 Series Master Reference Monitors, the 708i and the 705i. Leveraging patented technologies of JBL’s flagship M2 Master Reference Monitor, the two models were developed to meet the needs of broadcast and post-production facilities.

Barco confirmed the acquisition of German company Iosono and the subsequent creation of Barco Audio Technologies. With Iosono’s team and expertise, the digital cinema and presentation technologies specialist from Belgium intends to further enhance the immersive sound experience in cinemas and events worldwide.

Fairlight introduced a range of innovative products and solutions at the IBC 2014 show. Starting with the QUANTUM.Live Table-Top Console, a new smaller member of its EVO.Live console family, Fairlight also demonstrated an expanded range of live production tools, which includes the highly acclaimed iCan customisation software, and CC-2 hardware with new V5 software.

Dolby Laboratories announced that Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. movies featuring Dolby Atmos soundtracks will soon be available for home theater enthusiasts with Dolby Atmos enabled AV receivers and speakers. Dolby Atmos movies will be available this fall on Blu-ray Disc and through leading content service provider VUDU, the first streaming service to announce support for Dolby Atmos films.

The CEDIA Expo 2014 is certainly the next great event for the AV industry.
