Sennheiser Introduces HDV 820 Fully Balanced Headphone Amplifier

At the Tokyo Headphone Festival, held from April 29-30, Sennheiser showcased the latest product in its high-end enthusiast range: the fully balanced headphone amplifier HDV 820. Building on the accomplishments of Sennheiser’s first-ever digital headphone amplifier, the acclaimed HDVD 800, the German company now designed the HDV 820 to complement its electronics with an enhanced, higher resolution and ultra low distortion option that perfectly complements its high-end headphones.

OPPO Digital finally unveiled full details on its new UDP-205 4K Ultra HD Audiophile Blu-ray Disc Player! The UDP-205 combines the incredible video technology of the UDP-203 with industry-leading audio technology, including dual ES9038PRO Sabre DAC chips from ESS Technology, an improved HDMI Audio Clock, an asynchronous USB DAC with Coaxial & Optical inputs, a headphone amplifier, and Dedicated Stereo Output with XLR Balanced Connectors.

At CES 2017, NXP Semiconductors (now part of Qualcomm) introduced its new i.MX 8M family of applications processors specifically designed to meet increasing audio and video system requirements for smart home and smart mobility applications such as over-the-top (OTT) set-top boxes, digital media adapters, surround sound, sound bars, A/V receivers, voice control, voice assistance, digital signage and general purpose human machine interface (HMI) solutions.

ESS Technology’s patented 32-bit HyperStream II architecture was initially launched in its Sabre PRO DAC series (ES9038PRO) at CES 2016. Based on the same architecture, the ESS team now introduced the ES9218 highly integrated HiFi SoC combining Quad 32-bit stereo DAC channels, analog volume control, 2Vrms outputs and much more.
