The Television Academy will present an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering, Science & Technology to the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE), the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), and the Video Services Forum (VSF) in recognition of their work on the development of the SMPTE ST 2110 suite of standards. SMPTE 2110 defines how to send digital media over IP networks and is intended to be used in broadcast production and distribution facilities.
