APG unveiled its new iX range, a full line of fixed installation coaxial speakers, characterized by a combination of high quality drivers and acoustic baffling that the company says, allows pure point source directivity. For some of the iX models, the French company has created coaxial devices that strike a perfect physical alignment between low and hi transducers. Overall, the range targets a wide variety of fixed installation applications.

Test Bench: Tang Band Speaker W8-2314 High-End Coaxial Driver

This Test Bench characterizes the W8-2314, a new 8" high-end home audio coaxial driver from Tang Band (TB) Speaker. The TB Speaker W8-2314 is built on an eight-spoke two-part ABS injection-molded frame that incorporates a separate injection-molded trim ring. Incorporated into the frame is the underhung-type woofer motor that consists of a circular array of six neodymium slugs - an arrangement that makes room for the concentrically mounted 25 mm tweeter and tweeter rear cavity. BMS Speakers Introduces New Coaxial Drivers and Next Generation 1" Compression Drivers

BMS Speakers introduced several new drivers at the Prolight+Sound 2019 show in Frankfurt, some still in prototype stage, others ready to enter production. Among the drivers now confirmed to be released are two new patented coaxial designs, including BMS' first 10" coaxial driver, the 10C262, and a new 12" coaxial transducer, the 12C382. Also new are the company's next generation 1" compression drivers, the BMS 5530 and 5531, taking BMS' ultra-low intermodulation distortion ring diaphragm to a new standard in size to output ratio, and providing the lowest crossover available at that size.

B&C Speakers' engineers have been working for the last five years on a family of next generation high frequency devices. The result is the DCX464, a new time coherent coaxial ring radiator design with a neodymium magnet assembly, which the company believes will open new horizons for the professional audio industry. Work Pro Widens SoundNut Pendant Speaker Range

AV equipment manufacturer Work Pro Audio is expanding the popular SoundNut range of pendant speakers for installed sound applications. After a preview at the ISE 2019 show, the Spanish company launched four more SoundNut models to complete the range: the SN-3, SN-6, SN-10, which feature three-, six- and 10-inch drivers respectively, and the SN-8SUB, an eight-inch subwoofer for low-frequency enhancement. All use the same basic design concept as the original SN-8 introduced in 2018.

The new design seems inspired by JBL Professional’s popular EON powered speakers only in smaller dimensions, designed for recording musicians, podcasters, and music and video producers of all levels. As JBL states, the new One Series 104 monitors draw from seven decades of JBL Professional engineering to deliver an innovative new speaker, designed from the ground up.
