Brandenburg Labs introduces Directivity Transfer Function for Okeanos Pro

Brandenburg Labs has updated its advanced headphone system, Okeanos Pro, intended for music production and scientific research. Starting in August 2025, users will have access to the Directivity Transfer Function (DTF) editor. This new tool enables Okeanos Pro users to adjust the directivity of virtual sound sources. By incorporating DTFs into their workflow, audio professionals will be able to experience a more realistic representation of their studio.

The Verband Deutscher Tonmeister e.V. (VDT) association awarded Karlheinz Brandenburg the Medal of Honor for his services to the audio industry. The Audio Engineering Society is promoting a new conference on Audio for Virtual and Augmented Reality (AVAR) to be held August 15–17 at the DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, WA. The fourth AES International AVAR Conference will feature keynotes from Sennheiser, Brandenburg Labs and Hear XR, as well as presentations from leading researchers and industry experts. Among many topics, the comprehensive program will explore spatial audio, 3D sound field navigation, room acoustics synthesis and best practices for VR/AR production.
