REDI Acoustics Introduces Acoustic Optimization and Treatment Design Tools Available via Subscription

REDI Acoustics officially announced that its ROCS (Room Optimization of Cuboid Spaces) and ATC (Acoustic Treatment Calculator) tools are now available as web apps through the REDI Acoustics website. Combining decades of real-world experience in acoustics research and design of critical listening spaces with an iterative AI-powered algorithm, ROCS and ATC provide a set of easy-to-use tools to optimize the acoustic performance of any rectangular room.

Danish company Odeon A/S, the pioneer of ray tracing and hybrid models that combine particle and ray tracing used to simulate and measure room acoustics, announced a new version of its ODEON Room Acoustics software. Introducing several important enhancements and new features the new version 16 is now available in four different application editions. Improved Reflectogram and 3D reflection-paths, improved Decay Curve, improved sweep-measurement tool, 3D Matrix, and support of ambisonic measurements are among the highlights.

Acoustic reflections in rooms, in the form of reverberation, contribute significantly to the characteristic of sound. In acoustic measurements for quality testing of loudspeakers and microphones, however, these reflections can produce inaccurate results and should therefore be excluded as far as possible. The measurement results must be reproducible and not significantly influenced by the room acoustics. In this article, NTi Audio explains how to remove reverberation from the measurement results.
