New Steinberg UR242 24-bit/192 kHz USB 2.0 Audio Interface

Steinberg Media Technologies announced the imminent release of the UR242 4x2 audio interface and it seems this will be the last. With the UR series already leaving potential buyers confused - there are now six different interfaces in the UR series - this will probably be the last USB 2.0 audio interface to reach the market - or so we hope.

Roland launched the Super UA, a high-performance USB 2.0 audio interface with 1-bit DSD and 32-bit PCM playback, with up to four simultaneous channels of 24-bit PCM recording and a high-performance headphone amplifier with two outputs. The Super UA features an impressive die-cast metal design with detachable breakout module.

The new MOTU 1248, 8M and 16A audio interfaces provide Thunderbolt or high-speed USB 2.0 (compatible with USB 3.0), on-board DSP with mixing and effects, supporting a flexible 48-input digital mixer with dynamics modeled from British consoles. The new MOTU audio recording interfaces are also the first to use AVB audio networking for large multichannel configurations.
