RØDE VideoMic Pro Gets Upgrade and Rycote Onboard

Australian pro-audio brand RØDE Microphones announced an upgrade to its number one selling microphone worldwide, the VideoMic Pro. The all new VideoMic Pro now features the acclaimed Rycote Lyre suspension system, along with an upgraded microphone capsule.

Australian audio company RØDE Microphones announced the first product in its “RØDELink” digital wireless product range – The Filmmaker Kit – has commenced shipping worldwide. Originally announced in January 2015 as part of the extended RØDELink Digital Wireless System, with this first product, RØDE consolidates its position in the video and field recording markets.

Australian audio company RØDE Microphones has held the largest simultaneous product launch in the company’s history, introducing multiple new products and categories at an exclusive event in San Diego, USA. RØDE introduced the NTR studio ribbon microphone, two innovative shotgun microphones and the RØDELink Digital Wireless System which finally allows the brand to enter the category.

The RØDE Stereo VideoMic X was introduced during the IBC 2014 show in Amsterdam and will be shipping globally in October 2014. As RØDE explains, “We had the objective of creating the best of the best and I believe we’ve done just that. The Stereo VideoMic X is the ultimate tool for superlative audio capture in any environment.”

The Røde iXY microphone is now available for Lightning devices, such as the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, in addition to the original 30-pin model. It’s true the original 30-pin iXY works on Lightning devices using a 30-pin to Lightning adaptor (not so practical) but at least Røde made the new iXY available in black.
