Bang & Olufsen Opens Up BeoLink SmartHome System to Third Party Control Systems

The BeoLink SmartHome solution allows users to connect Bang & Olufsen proprietary systems with other technology products in the home and offers full direct IP control with all of the existing home integrators such as Crestron, Control4 and Savant and completely new possibilities in the connected world such as Danfoss Link, DoorBird, Ecobee, OpenWeather and many more.

Founded in 2002, Sonos is now present in more than 60 countries, and already supports dozens of streaming music providers. Still, the company’s networked home sound systems have remained a closed-garden concerning software and remote control integration. Now, Sonos wants to change all that and announced new partnerships with Amazon for voice control, a new level of software integration with Spotify, and control integration with AV control manufacturers such as Crestron, Lutron, Savant, Control4, and iPort, among others.

Pioneer Home Entertainment USA announced two new Pioneer Elite home theater receivers that will meet the needs of custom installers, and two new consumer home theater receivers. All models feature HDCP 2.2 compliance, HDMI 2.0, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, DSD file playback and more. The 7.2 models are able to decode and play back Dolby Atmos content.

Full integration and IP control directly in Bang & Olufsen products and compliance with Internet of Things (IoT) was the focus for Bang & Olufsen’s participation at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2015 show in Amsterdam. The upgraded BeoLink Gateway connects Bang & Olufsen’s own TVs and audio equipment with third-party devices and home automation systems.
