Book Review: The Bruce Swedien Recording Method

With a career spanning 60 years, Bruce Swedien has recorded and mixed the biggest selling albums of all time. Swedien’s contribution to popular music is undeniable and his recordings have became a reference for generations of audio engineers. This book is a valuable compilation of different materials and reflects Swedien’s most recent activities, where he generously shares what he knows.

During the 137th Audio Engineering Society Convention in Los Angeles, Neumann made a very special presentation of a new U47 fet Collectors Edition microphone to esteemed recording engineer and producer Bruce Swedien, who counts the recording and mixing of Michael Jackson’s Thriller album among the highlights of his lifetime of career accomplishments. Swedien was presented with serial number 82 of the U47 fet Collectors Edition, in honor of the year that the Thriller album was released to the public.
