Ultra HD Blu-ray Content Will be Available for 2015 Holiday Season

The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) will commence licensing the Ultra HD Blu-ray format starting August 24, 2015. Product announcements are anticipated for 2015 Holiday Season. This is good news for all home-theater enthusiasts and anyone in the market for a new 4K TV set and a new immersive audio installation.

Hollywood studios, consumer electronics brands, content distributors, post-production and technology companies have announced the launch of the UHD (Ultra High Definition) Alliance to establish premium quality standards across content and devices at 2015 International CES. 4K resolutions and content will be available on next generation UHD Blu-ray Disc standards.

With more than 3,600 exhibitors across the largest show floor in history with more than 2.2 million net square feet of exhibit space, breaking last year’s previously set record of 2.06 million net square feet, the 2015 International CES is poised to be a record-breaking show. Owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the 2015 International CES runs through Friday, January 9.
