sensiBel announced that Kieran Harney has been appointed as CEO, effective September 3, 2025, to succeed Sverre Dale Moen, who has led sensiBel since 2018. Kieran Harney was responsible for business development in the Americas for sensiBel and over the past months took on the role of Chief Commercial Officer. He has been in the MEMS industry for 30 years and previously served as Managing Director of Audio Products at TDK Invensense. Earlier in his career, he started a successful MEMS microphone business at Analog Devices in 2005, that was later sold to InvenSense in 2013.

"After more than seven fantastic years, the time has come for me to pass on the baton as CEO of sensiBel. When sensiBel started, it was just a small team of three people with big ambitions. Together, we’ve built something special: A disruptive MEMS microphone technology with performance more than ten times better than competing solutions. I look forward to continuing my long relationship with sensiBel and have agreed with Board Chair Øyvind Isaksen to offer my input and advice also in the future," says Sverre Dale Moen.

"I feel both proud and humbled looking back, and excited about what lies ahead for sensiBel. I am thrilled that our Chief Commercial Officer, Kieran Harney, will now step into the CEO role. I know Kieran well, and with more than 30 years' experience in the MEMS industry, including more than 20 years in the MEMS microphone industry, I’m confident he will lead the company with great skill."

In the announcement, sensiBel's Board of Directors thanks Sverre for his tireless work building the sensiBel team, raising capital, and developing a unique product and technology now ramping production. "We cannot overstate our gratitude for everything Sverre has done to bring sensiBel to this point as we are ramping manufacturing of our products. We are pleased that Kieran has accepted the challenge and will lead the team into the next phase of our journey," says Øyvind Isaksen, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Kieran Harney is a seasoned international MEMS microphone industry leader having started a successful MEMS microphone business at Analog Devices that was sold to InvenSense in 2013.  Since then, Kieran has served in leadership positions in the MEMS microphone business at InvenSense and TDK. He has been working with sensiBel for the last three years, most recently as Chief Commercial Officer.

Recently, at the Sensors Converge conference and exhibition that took place in June in Santa Clara, CA, the company launched the SBM100B optical MEMS microphone family, the first product based on its revolutionary technology. The SBM100B digital output microphone is now commercially available, and the complete family includes PDM and I²S digital audio interfaces, as well as an 8-channel TDM configuration for beamforming and microphone arrays.

"The sensiBel optical technology represents a real breakthrough in MEMS microphones supporting performance levels unachievable with other solutions. I am very excited to accept the opportunity presented by the Board of Directors to lead the international team at sensiBel, to scale this technology, and bring studio quality MEMS microphones to the mass market," says Kieran Harney.
