Kii Audio Integrates Qobuz Connect Into Kii SEVEN With Free Firmware Upgrade

Since Qobuz introduced its direct streaming feature that offers simplified control and seamless continuity between devices in May 2025, it is triggering a series of announcements that reveal which systems are truly future-proofed and allow technology updates. Audio components such as network streamers and media players should continuously evolve and expand their capabilities over time. But for connected, active loudspeakers, this is relatively new. Qobuz Connect is now available in the Kii SEVEN high-end wireless music system through a simple free firmware update.
Kii Audio is enhancing the value of its designs, expanding its Kii SEVEN music system with another option that offers music lovers even more high-resolution variety. With a firmware update, Kii Audio introduces support for Qobuz Connect and demonstrates how a modern audio system for the smart home can continuously grow in functionality. With Qobuz Connect, the Kii SEVEN enables native Hi-Res playback from the Qobuz library without the need for an external streamer.

Thanks to the free update, the Kii SEVEN now provides Qobuz subscribers with direct access to their music libraries and supports a wide variety of high-quality playback options — supplementing the existing Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect options with Qobuz Connect. 

A unique feature of all Kii Audio speakers is the “Active Wave Focusing” technology, which is also implemented in the Kii SEVEN: By directing the sound in a cardioid dispersion pattern, the system largely eliminates the negative impact that room acoustics usually have on sound quality. This allows listeners to enjoy their favorite music with more detail and improved dynamics. But in addition to delivering outstanding sound performance, the Kii SEVEN also stands out for its ease of use. All system functions can be conveniently controlled either via the rear-mounted touchpad or through the intuitive Kii HOME App. This seamless integration into everyday life is reflected not only in its user-friendly operation but also in its elegant design.
 
The free Qobuz Connect update is now available. The firmware installation can be done online through the Kii Audio Update Server. All Kii SEVEN units shipped from September 2025 onward will come with Qobuz Connect support pre-installed.
