The new JBL 4369 Studio Monitor is part of the Harman Luxury Audio catalog, which explains why it debuted at the 2025 Tokyo International Audio Show, where the new JBL Summit Series speakers and the latest Mark Levinson 600 Series were also unveiled. Even though they are called “Studio Monitors,” a category that JBL offers in its Professional range with much more affordable prices, these “heritage” designs pay tribute to the original monitor designs that the legendary American brand founded by James B. Lansing successfully offered in the seventies. Although intended originally for recording studios, the JBL Studio Monitors were always considered some of the best speakers for home audio following the launch of the incredibly successful L-100 speaker, and later the 4310 control monitors.
Originally launched more than a decade ago, the JBL 4367 “heritage revival” of those original JBL models did well in the global market, and the new JBL 4369 apparently honors that legacy while elevating every aspect, from upgraded driver technologies and refined cabinet design to a next-generation crossover network, cementing its place as the new flagship of the JBL Studio Monitor Series.
“JBL Studio Monitor loudspeakers have a legendary reputation in the world of hi-fi delivering ultra-high-performance sound born from JBL’s professional monitors that have been used in the production of the most culturally significant recordings of our time,” says Jim Garrett, Senior Director, Product Strategy and Planning, Harman Luxury Audio. “The JBL 4369 is a true modern classic that bridges that storied heritage with today’s cutting-edge engineering. It delivers a breathtaking listening experience wrapped in the iconic design that has made JBL Studio Monitors instantly recognizable for generations.”
At the core of the JBL 4369 is a newly developed 15” (2219Nd-1) Differential Drive woofer, featuring dual three-inch voice coils and advanced neodymium motor structure. This patented design incorporates a ribbed pure pulp cone, copper cap/Faraday rings, dual opposing spiders, and a rigid cast aluminum frame engineered to deliver superior excursion, reduced distortion, and exceptional control across the low to mid-frequency spectrum.
Upper-mid and high frequencies are handled by JBL’s patented D2830B annular ring compression driver. Featuring dual three-inch diaphragms and neodymium motor structures, it is seamlessly integrated with a next-generation Sonoglass High-Definition Imaging (HDI) horn. This waveguide design improves the imaging, providing wide dispersion and a smooth response with refined detail and dynamics. “Together, these drivers form a two-way system that marries power with finesse to faithfully reproduce every nuance of the source material with the kind of scale, realism, and tonal purity that defines JBL’s studio heritage,” says JBL in the announcement.
The 4369 remains true to JBL’s signature Studio Monitor aesthetic with bold proportions and premium materials. The cabinet, constructed of one-inch MDF, features a dual-layer front baffle and is offered in two luxurious furniture-grade wood veneer finishes: Walnut with a classic blue grille or Black Walnut with a matching classic black grille. Signature front-panel controls allow users to fine-tune high and ultra-high frequencies, while a custom-milled aluminum terminal cup houses dual gold-plated binding posts for bi-wire and bi-amp configurations.
The JBL 4369 Studio Monitor is forecasted to be available globally in Q1 2026.
