Ezurio and Cloud2GND Launch Aurawave AW100 Series Modules to Simplify Auracast and Bluetooth LE Audio Product Development

The Aurawave AW100PA is the first commercially available Auracast and Bluetooth LE Audio module designed to support product developers. Engineering services firm Cloud2GND worked in partnership with Ezurio to create this complete solution for Auracast and Bluetooth LE Audio, combining long-range wireless performance (up to 250m), a high-performance AKM codec, and preloaded AT-command firmware for quick evaluation, integration, and deployment.
 
Built on Nordic Semiconductor's nRF5340 platform, Aurawave modules are now available for purchase from DigiKey and Mouser Electronics. 

Cloud2GND, a wireless engineering services firm, and Ezurio (formerly Laird Connectivity), specializing in wireless module solutions, worked to create the Aurawave AW100 modular platform.  The AW100PA is built on Ezurio’s BL5340PA and BL5340 modules, powered by Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF5340 SoC, with the BL5340PA variant adding the nRF21540 RF front-end module to extend range and improve connection robustness. The AW100PA board also integrates the high-performance AKM AK4558 audio codec chip, achieving excellent signal-to-noise ratio and low total harmonic distortion (THD) for production-quality audio, outperforming typical development kit specifications.

Combined with Cloud2GND's Aurawave Audio Framework, the AW100 board allows developers to quickly configure and deploy high-quality wireless audio broadcasting features using a familiar AT command interface. Designed to support Auracast source functionality, LE Audio product development, and standalone or host-managed operation, the AW100 provides a complete hardware and firmware platform to serve both prototyping and production needs. "Our goal with Aurawave was to make Auracast and LE Audio more accessible to developers and product teams," says Josh Toole, CEO of Cloud2GND. "By leveraging Nordic's dual-core architecture, Ezurio’s high-performance modules, and our own embedded expertise, we've created a platform that works out of the box and scales to real-world applications."

The AW100 board includes onboard audio I/O (I2S, USB, and codec), a USB-C interface for power and data, and a 40-pin expansion header for GPIO and peripheral access. The included firmware enables device configuration via AT commands and supports key LE Audio roles without requiring custom development from scratch.

The Aurawave AW100 offers Auracast Source Support to broadcast high-quality audio to multiple Bluetooth receivers, with long-range transmission up to 250m in free field. The included AT Command Firmware allows developers to easily configure and manage LE Audio behavior. The solution is also a full Bluetooth LE 6.0 core, compatible with third-party Bluetooth LE devices for a range of applications. The USB-C and 40-Pin expansion connectors allow simplified power, control, and peripheral integration, allowing the board to operate in standalone mode. The platform also supports custom firmware and comes with preloaded binaries with the option to flash custom builds via SWD.
