BluOS 4.12 Now Allows Users to Create Playlists from Multiple Sources and Streaming Services

September 26 2025, 00:35
BluOS, the premium multiroom music management platform, announced the launch of Queue Builder Mode, a new feature designed for intuitive queue and playlist management. Available now as part of the BluOS 4.12 software update, Queue Builder Mode gives users a more efficient way to create personalized listening experiences while browsing their favorite streaming services. Playlists can include local files and different music streaming services.

BluOS is recognized as one of the best software interfaces for audio control, allowing users to manage all their available sources stored locally or on cloud music sources - available both as an operating system and a control application for smartphones, tablets, and PC desktops. And BluOS also supports high-resolution audio streaming up to 24-bit/192kHz in multiroom or whole home installations. Interoperability among enabled devices across brands is another major benefit, allowing BluOS to support a wide range of formats and codecs, including FLAC, WAV, MQA, offering virtually unlimited access to music of all genres for any occasion.

With the latest BluOS 4.12 software update, users will now gain access to a Queue Builder Mode, which simplifies the way users build queues and playlists, allowing tracks to be added effortlessly during search or discovery. As listeners explore streaming services or curated recommendations within the BluOS app, the feature makes it easy to capture tracks in the moment without interrupting playback, creating a smoother and more enjoyable listening process.

"Queue Builder Mode has been designed to give listeners more flexibility and control," explains Andrew Haines, BluOS Product Manager. "It helps users create collections that suit their mood, their setup, and the way they move through their living spaces – making it simple to shape the perfect soundtrack for every room in the home."

"For many listeners, personalization is key to enjoying music. Queue Builder Mode makes that effortless, letting people build queues or playlists that truly reflect their taste, all without breaking the continuity of their listening experience," adds Haines.

By making playlist creation more efficient, Queue Builder Mode allows listeners to spend less time managing and more time enjoying their music. Users can now capture songs as they discover them, build playlists that reflect their unique preferences, and combine tracks from different streaming services for ultimate choice in versions and audio quality.

The BluOS 4.12 update introduces Queue Builder Mode along with several other enhancements designed to elevate the user experience, including Qobuz Connect integration and DIRAC updates with support for previous models. The update is available from the BluOS Controller app and will roll out to all BluOS-compatible products, including those from Bluesound, NAD Electronics, PSB Speakers, Cyrus Audio, DALI Speakers, and Monitor Audio.

BluOS is part of the Lenbrook Media Group portfolio.
