The switch directs eight channels of analog audio between four ports equipped with standard DB25 connections. The switch is controlled by simple contact closure, open collector driver or a logic low signal. The control port is directly wired for interfacing with an AverLine 3102 general purpose input-output module but it will support interfacing with 3rdparty products such as an Audio Precision APx series analyzer.
"Test systems need to be designed for speed, scalability and economy," says Jonathan Novick, Avermetrics Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Our AverLine systems will support hundreds of channels of simultaneous testing, but on many devices, such as live sound mixers, one cannot test all audio paths simultaneously. This is where the 9084 analog switch can add significant economies.”
The 9084 is easy to interface to from a custom test fixture. The high-reliability relays are rated for one billion operations making it perfect for production situations. The audio connections are made using the industry-standard pinouts for DB25 connectors and are thus compatible with many readily available cable snakes. The 9084 switch is shipping now at $1500 each and are available direct or through Amazon.com.
