Andover Audio Launches New Andover-One SB Turntable-Loudspeaker System

July 28 2025, 09:10
Boston-based Andover Audio announced a new flagship turntable loudspeaker model, the Andover-One Speaker Base (SB), based on its original Andover-One system. The new model offers a higher quality option that expands on the company's origins with the Model One Record Player, a powered speaker system and integrated turntable. The Andover-One SB retains the audio hallmarks of the original design, but replaces the turntable with a tempered-glass top on which users can now easily stack their turntable of choice..

The Andover-One Series features elegant mid-century-modern inspired cabinets of genuine hardwood and a modular design, which works as a standalone speaker, or can be expand vertically with optional LP storage bases and/or subwoofers to create a stunning sonic and visual centerpiece. A concept that is ideal for those feeling the nostalgia of listening to their existing record collection in a dedicated space, and new generations of vinyl enthusiasts.

"The original Andover-One stands alone as the industry's top choice for a high-performance, all-in-one turntable," says Bob Hazelwood, Andover’s Director of Engineering and Product Development. "We have always prioritized our customer feedback, and while we celebrated the success of our unique design, we understood that there was opportunity to expand the series for customers to personalize their systems. A base-only model was a natural evolution, allowing us to maintain the Andover-One’s sophisticated style and impressive performance in a compact, luxury vinyl playback system."
Andover Audio's patented IsoGroove technology eliminates acoustic feedback by canceling vibrations, enabling a turntable to sit directly atop the speaker without degrading the sound quality. Andover’s proprietary speaker design, optimized bracing, and advanced DSP make this seemingly impossible design feat a reality for vinyl purists.

A clever alternative to a traditional stereo setup, the Andover-One SB boasts a 270° soundstage produced by front- and side-firing speaker arrays. Four 3.5" aluminum diaphragm woofers work in combination with two Air Motion Transformer folded-ribbon tweeters. These six precision drivers and 200W of Dual Direct Drive biamplification deliver rich, room-filling sound. All interior components of the new Andover-One SB have been selected to improve the experience, delivering a level of sound that feels effortless and surprising from a single-chassis design.

Headphone enthusiasts will also appreciate the Andover-One SB's integrated class-A headphone amplifier, which features a discrete output stage delivering accurate, low-distortion sound for optimal performance with a wide range of headphones.

Apart from the mandatory built-in phono preamp, as a modern all-in-one system, the Andover-One SB also supports Bluetooth, offering a wide choice of AAC, aptX, aptX HD, and aptX low-latency codecs. For added flexibility to expand the system, the Andover-One SB can connect to CD players, USB sources, subwoofers, and more via its optical, coaxial, analog and USB inputs. The USB output allows users to rip vinyl to a computer, while streaming is possible with Andover’s optional Songbird or Songbird HR streamers, easily connected via the Andover-One’s Aux 2 input.

When required - such as for a party - the Andover-One SB can be expanded with a pair of active speakers, connected directly to the existing volume-controlled stereo line output. And there's a dedicated subwoofer output with a selectable high-pass filter to optimize any model and configuration.

The Andover-One SB also features advanced power management and is easily controlled via its easy-to-read menu and included full-function RF remote control, with effortless navigation of sources and settings, including custom EQ adjustment. Now available at an MSRP of $1,999 directly from the company's website or Amazon.
